DEMONSTRATION ON ARTIFACTS CONSERVATION

PMKu has received a visit from Sungai Lembing Museum Officer. They were reaching out the students for giving exposure about Sungai Lembing Museum and preservation of artifacts. It was held in TECC which are consists of 22 students from DUP4 and two of our beloved lecturers Miss Leen and Miss Akashah. The sharing session was conducted interactively between the officer and students. She explained very well about the history of the Sungai Lembing Museum and the importance of preserving the artifacts. They were using slideshow and it made us more understanding.

Sungai Lembing Museum plays such an important role in giving the information and exhibits historical shreds of evidence tin mining in Sungai Lembing! It is also focused on preserving and gathering the national information about the museum so that to maintain the history, culture including artifacts, monuments and other remains in Sungai Lembing. They collect two types of collections which are archaeological and ethnological.

Next, it was a demonstration time! One of the Museum Officer (the only man that came along) shown a demonstration on preserving the artifacts. Based on his demonstration, there are several methods that could be used according to the materials of the collection. Some of the collections also being conduct analysis, research, and treatment for the purposes of storage, education, exhibition, and documentation. He said " Don't easily touch the artifacts in any kind of museum you went, you might broke them! ". Please remind yourself and do support exhibits from Departments of Museums Malaysia in order to secure our own national history!
